- preheat oven to 400°.
- in first small bowl.. using topping ingredients... mix both well and set aside..
- cookie: in another medium sized bowl.. sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. set aside..
- in another medium sized bowl cream together the butter and the shortening..
- gradually add the sugar to the butter mix stopping to scrape down sides before each addition. continue until u have no sugar left..
- add eggs one at a time,.beating well after each egg is added..
- now add vanilla and beat well again..
- add half the flour and mix well. add second half of the flour and mix well again..
- stir in chocolate chips..
- prepare cookie sheets by lightly greasing them..
- take your cinnamon sugar mix and sprinkle a small amount on the cookie sheet only where the cookies are gonna go. see photo...
- place cookie dough on top of where you put the cinnamon mix. about a large teaspoon..
- sprinkle more cinnamon mix on top of the cookie..
- bake for about 11 minutes or until golden around the edges..
- cool on wire rack..
- serve.
- hint.. it won't take on all of the cinnamon sugar you put on the bottom but it grabs the perfect amount...
